White Corruption

 The shame

How it sizzles in my lower chest

Like a sleeping volcano that is waking up

Each time another racist political missile is launched

Against the oppressed who have been targeted by policies and laws that strip them of rights and freedom since the birth of this nation

By the cowardly band of white extremists who devised and continue to build a racist system that holds down and chokes the breath out of "nonwhite" human beings to keep them from attaining any voice in society.

The white man who took the lands illegally in the first place made up stories how nonwhites are subhuman

And it was the white man who coerced and kidnapped the Black bodies over here and then enslaved them centuries ago

They made up lies about how these "savages" are out of control and are to be feared

They projected their own inhumanity onto them

They spread the delusion that white people are superior

The only way that people of color and the indigenous can survive is by serving the white man

And they have continued that narrative

To keep their cherished power and status

And this continues to be their strategy

How this ideology has permeated our culture all this time

It has sucked my soul into this dark cold and parasitic vacuum of white superiority, white privilege, white entitlement and racism

That has become repulsive to me

That I try to exorcise from my self

It gets triggered like an explosion in my head

When the white supremacists that have power and control plot and execute a strategy that shackles the feet of communities of color

And they use the media to spread their unholy and evil gospel

And they shoot Black people dead

They desecrate temples, mosques and synagogues

They condone mass shootings

They attack Asians in the streets

They desecrate the lands of the Indigenous and disrespect their bodies

My heart sinks

My whiteness and maleness melt into shame

Why can't I stop this cycle of white corruption?
